Raja Robert M. Koroh of Amarasi

His father and grandfather were very influential politicians. The Amarasi Dynasty was always known as a very rebellious and more or less independent royal family. They played a big role in the independence process of Indonesia on the island.

Actually, they are in the male line royals of the Djawa Dynasty of the Seba principality on the island of Savu;to the SW of Timor.

Raja Rasi Koroh (1871-1887/1891-1914 had no legal direct heir for the throne, so his grandsons on Savu were adopted as his heirs.Their mother was married with a Seba prince;brother of the raja. But Raja Rasi Koroh changed their name in Koroh.

The crown plate on his turban is a heirloom from the Seba dynasty, but he wears it in a Timorese way.

Raja Robert Koroh was involved in local politics in the past, but later chose to represent the needs of his people otherwise and also chose to look after the local agriculture.

Because his grandfather and the father of the present Sultan of Ternate/N.-Moluccans (Sultan Drs. Mudafar Syah II) were good friends, he could meet the daughter of the present Ternate Sultan and fell in love with this princess Mira S. Syah.

His Crown Prince is his oldest son Raja Muda Michael.

The Raja is always very helpful and never refuses anyone, who asks him a reasonable favour. His mother is internationally known as connoisseur of local weaving techniques and -patterns. Many tourists visit the palace in Baun.

The Raja is at times said to look like a movie star (he has the sharp nose from his Savunese forefathers). The Raja of Amarasi is originally called - Nai Jufa  Naikh , The Big King.
