Royal Timor
Biboki

Raja Johanis Tnesi Us Boko of Biboki
Little public knowledge is available on this last traditional functioning big Raja of Timor-W. For a time, the Dutch thought of these Rajas as not really persons of the Emperor dynasty available to rule in this isolated area.
The assistant of the ruler (Keser), the Kornel, was later not suitable to rule. But the isolation of the Keser family was done to preserve the symbolic and ritual rajas. Although from 1915 the sub-rajas of Manlea ruled, the Keser remained the power morally.
So the dynasty could preserve their influence, more then in Insana, where there was a similar of situation.
The District chiefs (Bupati's) of the local area can not ignore the immense respect the people have for this raja and also must pay their respect to him.
It can be said that the role of the Raja can be compared to some extent to the Rain Queen of the Lobedu people of S.-Africa.
What his successor will do isn't to be predicted. Many of his family are honest Roman Catholic Christians.
The Raja works nowadays closely together with many international scholars, who want to know more about the culture and history of Beboki.
The Raja’s palace at Tamkesi is not easily accessible by car.
